grants provided by the European Union.<\/p><p>Making environmental protection and cost savings compatible in business is not only possible, but must be assumed as a cause and effect relationship. The linear economic model used so far, whose philosophy is based on production, consumption and disposal, encourages a culture of waste and, consequently, environmental degradation.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>In this way, moving towards a model of a circular economy, in which the value of products, materials and resources is maintained in the economy for as long as possible, and in which waste generation is reduced to a minimum, represents a competitive advantage for companies.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-1c4652b elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"1c4652b\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-ac03764\" data-id=\"ac03764\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2b11bb3 separador-4-izq elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"2b11bb3\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Sustainability and cost reduction <\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0b343f1 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"0b343f1\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The head of EuroFunding&#8217;s Energy Efficiency and Sustainability unit, Enrique Roca, points out the numerous initiatives that companies can incorporate to<strong> make their process more sustainable and reduce costs.<\/strong> &#8220;A company that generates sludge derived from the treatment of its process water could consider valuing it at an energy level in order to use it as fuel, thus reducing natural gas consumption&#8221;.<\/p><p>Another example is the <strong>purchase of electricity from renewable sources<\/strong>. In particular, some traders offer electricity produced exclusively from renewable sources at a similar or even lower cost than other traders.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-f0fc7db elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"f0fc7db\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-cfb8a42\" data-id=\"cfb8a42\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b63c671 separador-4-izq elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"b63c671\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">European Funds<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d510d75 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"d510d75\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>On the other hand, we explain how the <strong>European Union is very aware of climate change<\/strong> and environmental degradation and therefore has established a European Green Pact for all its member countries.<\/p><p>The goal of this pact is to <strong>achieve a clean economy<\/strong>, with zero emissions, and to protect the natural habitat in order to improve the well-being of people, <strong>companies and to take the lead in climate action around the planet.<\/strong><br \/>It aims to transform the EU economy into a fully sustainable one, bringing about a change in the European Union&#8217;s social and economic model, providing time the economic resources to allow a just transition.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-224323f elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"224323f\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-f06f0d7\" data-id=\"f06f0d7\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4c87e73 separador-4-izq elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"4c87e73\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h4 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Actions against climate change<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d0bdd8d elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"d0bdd8d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"color: var(--euro-negro); background-color: var(--euro-blanco);\">The <\/span><strong style=\"color: var(--euro-negro); background-color: var(--euro-blanco);\">European Green Pact<\/strong><span style=\"color: var(--euro-negro); background-color: var(--euro-blanco);\"> includes a series of actions to boost the efficient use of resources covering all sectors of the economy, with particular emphasis on those that produce the most emissions, such as transport, energy or industries.<\/span><br><\/p>\n<p><strong>260 billion of additional annual investment will be required<\/strong> to meet the climate targets currently set for 2030, so<br>will require both <strong>private and public sector collaboration<\/strong> and will mean that at least <strong>25% of the European Union&#8217;s budget<\/strong> will have to be allocated to action against climate change. The European Commission aims to be even more<br>and reduce emissions by 50-55% by 2030.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-5357439 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"5357439\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-aa5833b\" data-id=\"aa5833b\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-bcd1308 separador-4-izq elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"bcd1308\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h5 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">European Strategic Agendas<\/h5>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a068536 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"a068536\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The most important thematic priorities in the field of energy, environment and sustainability of the resources associated with this compact are aligned with the main European strategic agendas and in a very summarized way are listed below:<\/p><ul><li>Energy production and use accounts for more than <strong>75% of greenhouse effect of the European Union, so the aim is to decarbonize<\/strong> this sector and to prioritise the use of clean and renewable energies through the modernisation of infrastructure and the promotion of energy efficiency and ecological.<\/li><li>Sustainable industry: only<strong> 12% of the materials used come from recycling and accounts for 20% of EU emissions<\/strong>. The Industrial Strategy of the European Commission, included in this Green Pact, points out that companies will receive <strong>support to modernise their processes and circular<\/strong> and zero-emission production will be stimulated. Progress in the textile, electronics, plastics and construction sectors will be key.<\/li><li><strong>Efficient renovation and construction of buildings to improve energy efficiency<\/strong>, as they currently account for 40% of energy consumption. To this end, a renovation initiative will be proposed to develop new possibilities and invest in the energy efficiency of buildings.<\/li><li>Sustainable mobility: the European Commission proposes and promotes the use of transport &#8211; public and private &#8211; that is cleaner, more efficient and healthier.
